International Humanitarian Law

Humanitarian Law is made up of international regulations and principles which are applied to armed conflicts in order to deal with humanitarian crises and to protect the dignity of the individual.
E.g. the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their two Additional Protocols of 1977.
